A surgical guide is a custom-made template that steers the position and angle of the implant during surgery.
First, 3D imaging and digital impressions are combined. In software, the implant position is planned with the bone, neighbouring teeth and nerve in mind. The guide is then produced from that plan.
During surgery the guide sits in the mouth and the implant is positioned through it. This makes the procedure more predictable. Not every case needs a guide, though; we choose the best method together after your exam.
